The Schnecks, who are both pastors in the region, had been foster parents to Kelsey since she was 12 days old. They have a biological son, Connor, 12, and another adopted daughter, Cassandra, 8, who was born in Vietnam.
As their lives progressed with Kelsey, they knew they wanted her to become part of the permanent family.
“It’s been quite a journey,” said Tony Schneck, who is pastor at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran in Richland. “She’s been part of our family for quite a while, but this is making it legal. It is cause to celebrate.”
